26“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters–yes, even his own life–he cannot be my disciple. 27And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:26-27(NIV)
This is a scripture God chellanged me with at a time when I didn't really what to be chellanged anymore but at the same time it helped make sence of my whole situation. In leaving my host community (the young guys I had looked out for) of 1.25 years the pain was soo great this scripture did show me that even through this was not my family this was the cost of following Christ which is a hard one as this points out!
The message puts it like this :
"Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters--yes, even one's own self!-can't be my disciple. Anyone who won't shoulder his own cross and follow behind me can't be my disciple.
My life is no longer my own
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-21
